Four wife’s for a man, what’s that ? Even Gods had been personified with wife’s.
Lord Ganesha has the answer:
- Siddhi – being in the Spiritual stage – the first wife
- Buddhi – being in realm of good knowledge – the second wife
- Riddhi – being in wealth and prosperity – the third wife
- While Ganesh has these three wife’s, metaphorically this refers man as the individual to be blessed with these three wife’s in order for one to have a complete life of joy and happiness, with the virtue of being blessed with the fourth wife, the real physical wife.
Probably, some might have misunderstood these notions and decided to be married with four women.
